Send a bug report
In the app, open the “more” panel and choose “report a bug”. Write what happened. Turn on “include this project” if you want the project and its audio sent with the report; it helps when the problem is in one project. Then press send.
You need to be signed in to iCloud to send a report. A report carries what you wrote, the project only if you chose it, your system version, the kind of device and the hocket version. The privacy policy says the rest.

Where is my work saved?
On your device, as you make it. There is no save button. The saved file is encrypted on the device. Deleting the app deletes the saved work with it.
What is a palette?
A starting point: a piece of music already built as wheels and hoops. You load one onto the canvas and then change it however you like. hocket comes with a few, under “palettes” in the “more” panel.
Does it run on iPhone and Mac?
It runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Bug reports can be sent from all three.
Does hocket record from the microphone?
Not yet.

The short version
hocket collects nothing about you. The one exception is a bug report you choose to send. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party code in the app.
What stays on your device
Your work is saved on your device as you make it. The saved file is encrypted, and its key is kept in the device’s Keychain.
On iPhone and iPad, an encrypted backup of the device, or moving to a new device, carries the key, so your work comes with you. An unencrypted backup does not carry it, and the saved file in it cannot be read.
What a bug report sends
A bug report leaves your device only when you open “report a bug”, write a message and press send. Nothing is sent before that. A report carries:
Sending needs an iCloud account signed in on the device. The report is saved to Apple’s CloudKit, in a public database in hocket’s own container. Reports are read by Ugly Bird LLC.
CloudKit marks each report with an opaque identifier for the iCloud account that sent it. The identifier is specific to hocket’s container. It is not your name or your email address, and hocket does not ask for either.
We read reports to fix bugs. We do not use them for tracking, advertising or analytics, and we do not sell or share them.
Deleting a report
To have your reports deleted, send a bug report from the app asking for it, from the same iCloud account. We delete the reports that account sent, the request among them, within 60 days.
What hocket does not do
The microphone
hocket’s settings include a microphone usage description, because a later version is meant to record audio. This version does not record and does not ask for the microphone. If a version does, this policy will say what happens to a recording before it ships.
Apple platforms
Apple may collect diagnostic and usage data through TestFlight and the App Store. That collection is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not control or receive that data in identifiable form.
Children
hocket is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, children included, other than a bug report that person chooses to send.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date.

License
Ugly Bird LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use hocket on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the Apple Standard EULA.
Your content
Compositions you create belong to you. We claim no ownership over music or patterns you make with hocket.
Bundled samples
hocket includes audio samples from third-party sources. Each sample bank is used under its respective open license (CC0, CC BY, or similar). Attribution is provided within the app.
No warranty
hocket is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for data loss, device issues, or any damages arising from use of the app.
Changes
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
